Fascial Manipulation

Fascial manipulation uses a hands-on therapeutic approach grounded in an anatomical and functional understanding of the fascial system. Targeted, skilled manual pressure is applied to specific areas of fascia to assess and address restrictions in tissue glide, tension, and continuity. This supports efficient force transmission, coordinated movement, and the resolution of pain or dysfunction.

This approach views health as dependent on the integrity, adaptability, and communication of the fascial network throughout the body. When fascia loses its ability to slide, hydrate, or distribute load, which may be due to injury, overuse, inflammation, or stress, then movement patterns and physiological function may be compromised. In a fascial manipulation session, key areas of densification or altered tension are identified and precise techniques are applied to restore normal fascial behavior and organization.

In fascial manipulation, the practitioner works directly with the connective tissue to facilitate change, using anatomical knowledge and tactile specificity to guide the system toward improved elasticity, coordination, and balance. By restoring fascial continuity and responsiveness, the nervous and musculoskeletal systems are supported in moving toward greater integration, efficiency, and ease.
